Conflict of Interest Regulation
The Government Code requires that every state agency have a conflict of interest code which identifies all agency officials and employees who make or participate in making governmental decisions and specifies their disclosure and reporting obligations. The Agency's inaugural Conflict of Interest Code was adopted in 2021 and went into effect on February 3, 2022.

Status of the Proposal: The rulemaking is complete. On November 2, 2021 the Fair Political Practices Commission approved the California Privacy Protection Agency's Conflict of Interest Code regulation, and the Office of Administrative Law filed the Code with the Secretary of State on January 4, 2022. The regulation became effective on February 3, 2022.
