Data Broker Regulations

Effective January 1, 2024, administrative responsibility for the state’s data broker registry has been transferred from the California Department of Justice to the California Privacy Protection Agency. The Office of Administrative Law confirmed the transfer on January 8, 2024. Data broker regulations are now housed in California Code of Regulation Title 11, Division 6, Chapter 3.
